I took standard portraits of each model. I wanted to create a very surface level glimpse of who they are as a person. One that is more about looks than personality. After photographing them I asked each of them what they disliked most about their bodies. Focusing in on the parts of their body specifically, forces the models to put their walls down and become vulnerable to the audience who will be looking at them and me who is photographing them. The things they don’t like about themselves may be completely beautiful to someone else. Without these “imperfections” they wouldn’t be the person they are.
